Upgrade Policy

New versions are usually released every two or three months. Version number looks like X.Y, where X is major version number and Y is minor version number. Updates are major and minor, as well. Minor update is when Y increases. For example update from 3.1 to 3.2 is a minor one. Major update is when X increases. Update from 2.13 to 3.0 is a major update.

Minor updates are free

Yes, if you purchase version 3.1, you can update to 3.2, 3.3… etc for free. You may download the latest version with the same major number, install and use it. That’s because minor updates just add some new features or shapes. Nothing revolutionary, just new possibilities. And this costs nothing for existing customers.

Major updates are not

Major updates require new serial number. And that’s why: major update is almost like a “new software”. The releasing of major update means that the application was significantly changed, completely new features were added and so on. This costs money, but it is usually worth that money. Finally, you may decide to stay on the previous versions as long as you need.
