Let’s give it a try…

May 5th, 2011

As I promised yesterday, here is the very first version of Box Shot 3D with the multiple shapes feature.

It works quite stable, so I probably put it to the Downloads section soon, but now I want you to test it here and write your impressions and suggestions. Perhaps, I’ve missed something, so give me a chance to fix it before the public release :)

Update: the testing period is over, the public version is released

Please do not request the major features here, just the impressions and suggestions for the multiple shapes.

Thanks.

Btw, this release fixes the “impossible rotation” and “magazine on the floor” issues. It also fixes some Mac-related crashes.

Hello Vitaly,

I downloaded the mac version. When I add a new shape, I get a continuing list with “Label/Label”, but not the actual names of the shapes.

Simply genious !!!

Render times are very short.

Great leap forward. I’ve not found any bug yet, so it seems quite stable (Win version).

Keep the good work.

Regards

I have downloaded the trial for Mac and when I add a new shape the new shape actually appears as part of the old shape – they merge in some kind of weird way.

Hi Vitaly, I think this is a very useful feature, Thank you. I would like that when add a new object, it be not in the same position of another object, but in another position so as not to clash with the previous object. It is also difficult to move objects with offset control, because no one knows where the axes are x, y, z, and where it is negative and positive. It would be good to have a rotary axis in the lower left corner that indicates where are the axes x, y and z. Another alternative would be a gizmo in a special view without effects, and in real time. After editing the object’s position back to normal, with shadow effects and more. This would improve the work with objects, especially now that you can add more than one in the scene Thanks. Juan.

Hi Vitaly, I have an idea. Allow import two previous projects in a “scene composed”, although the textures are in separate folders. That is, create separate books for separate projects and then join them in a file (probably with another extension) where you can not edit, just put, organize and render. If I change the original project, it automatically changes the object in the new scene. About the program and I look very good appearance. Very interesting and useful new feature. Thank you very much, Vitaly. Juan David.

I think it works fine as it is. I managed to get my head round it – it is pretty easy to move the different shapes around using the Transformation offsets. I wonder if this was created using BoxShot3D:

What do you think?

Vitaly – Brilliant!

Love it, just put a pack shot together of 4 different books with a CD, rendered in 33 minutes, took about 6minutes to put together!

Love it, love it, love it!
