2D Image vs 3D Cover

August 2nd, 2009

While I am working on the next version of Box Shot 3D, Stephan Schmidt made a very interesting A/B-test with his new e-book. He made two pages with the same content and the only difference was in e-book image. One page had 2D-image and another one had 3D-cover (yes, made with Box Shot 3D :) )

Results were great: page with 3D cover image had 30% better conversion than 2D image.

Full story is here

The story seems interesting. When is the new version of Box Shot 3D going to be available? Is it a race against Cover Action Pro 2 which is going to be released in 19 days? What are the new features (shapes)?

Martin, the new version of Box Shot 3D will be released in the first days of September. New shapes will be added and some new effects as well. No details right now, but I’ll post images later.

BOX SHOT 3D rules, its the best program in the universe of product illustration, sell the layout. and you can create or objs in google sketchup, very good for advertising presentations.
All the best for the team.

Hi! Really miss a 3D-shape for Digipak for CD, and Super Jewel Box (SACD). The popularity for Super Jewel Box is growing fast!

If you could provide a standalone template of software boxes for download, it will be very helpful.

Artur, thank you.

Dan and Simon, these boxes are usually transparent and Box Shot 3D is not yet ready to show realistic glass. I am working on it and hope to make this possible in the future versions. When this will be done, I’ll add jewel boxes.

Martin, sorry, no pics yet. A bit later :)

John, what do you mean by templates? Do you mean default images or what?

No probs, I think I asked before but will you release a hardback book with a wrap-around dust jacket (flaps)?

Not refering to this post but to your incredible customer service. Probably automized but so effective…

I had lost my installation and key through a harddisc crash. Was up and running after one little request in less than 30 minutes.

Thanks so much. Fantastic. Keep it up!

Cheers,
Martin

Martin, unfortunately I am not a robot. No automation here :)

Hi Vitaly, any news on the new release – shapes, effects? Will you be posting any screenshots soon? Sorry, don’t want to put pressure. James
