Box Shot 3D 2.11

March 18th, 2009

Well, it is finally released! It took about 3 months to add the following:

  • New objects: comb/wire/coil/angle-d binders, two new book shapes, plastic DVD box and paper bag
  • Windows version has new user interface, hope you will like it, Mac version was updated too. Now they are much more similar.
  • Objects may be moved or rotated along all three axises, check “Transformation” option on the “Shape” tab.
  • You may use transparent images for CD, brochures and images. There is a checkbox on the “Images” tab that allows this.
  • Now it is possible to read and write TIFF files (even with transparency) and read PSD files (Grayscale, RGB, CMYK, 8 and 16 bits, transparency). Mac version allows to read most image formats that Mac OS X allows to read.
  • Software boxes were grouped to “Software Box” shape and now can be accessed via “Box Type” combo.

Among this, lots of things were adjusted, changed, fixed, improved and updated. Hope you will love the new version. As always any feedback is welcome: send your reports, wishes, ideas using the contacts form. They  really help to improve Box Shot 3D!

As always, upgrade costs nothing for our customers. Click the button at the right and grab your copy now :)

I’m impressed with the growing power and versatility of this program, plus you have made sure it is still a lot of fun to use! I love software that really inspires me on all the ways I can use it. I’m most intrigued by the transparency feature, followed closely by the new shapes. I haven’t experimented much yet with the transformation option but I’ll use it a lot too, I’m sure. Thanks for your dedication to improving an already excellent program!

I love software that is extremely easy to use, easy to understand and produces results well. BoxShot3D renders amazingly well. Check out the shadows and sky lighting. http://www.boxshot3d.com/home/difference/

Tailor made for my needs… I just can’t figure out how you knew my waist size?

Just wow! Thanks for implementing so many of the suggestions we made. This is one of the most useful releases since I know BoxShot. As Warren already mentioned, BS3D is getting better towards a pro tool with every release while still staying easy to use and keeping fun while working with it. Excellent work, thank you very much for this!

I actually havent used this software in a while but I have been having problems with it.

Today I wanted to create a Soft Cover Book and had an image for the cover 200×150. When I loaded the image in everything was fine and it rendered great. I closed the app and then discovered that I wanted the image bigger 300×244 so I created a new image for the front cover and started again. This time it wouldnt work by that I mean the imported front cover was distorted even though the width and height I had entered were correct. Does the app have some kind of caching problem or something?

Is there an efficient way to minimize amount of white space around rendered 3D images? I have been trying to find solution that I can consistently apply to any project. I am rendering hundreds of 3D images using command line and have no way to check if an image fit inside the canvas. Please respond somebody experienced the same problem
