Ho-Ho-Ho!

December 23rd, 2008

Santa just visited us, tested the latest build of Box Shot 3D 2.10 and said that it is ready to release :)

So, you may grab it right now from the download section!

What’s new:

  • New object “Opened book on the floor”: nine new shapes
  • Square corners in spiral-bounded book
  • Two new shapes for soft cover book and two new soft cover stacks
  • Vertical brochures have up to 4 folds
  • CD from “CD in Envelope” now has “CD on the floor” option
  • Images can be laid down to the floor and can fly above it
  • Reflection can be blurred

Some features were cut to release 2.10 before Christmas, lots of new features will appear in 2.11 and I think it will not take a while to release it.

Comments are welcome!

P.S.: of course, upgrade is free :)

Yeah, I love the new options.

You mention you haven’t included all the features (to make it for a Xmas release) – what have you planned for v2.11?

And will it (can it *please*) include a wireo-bound option with control over the density of the wire?

Love the new version. I’d also like to see the wire-bound option Krizz mentioned. What would also be nice are some more CD and DVD options: a CD/DVD stack similar to the book stack, and maybe some sort of packaging (maybe a box) with multiple CDs/DVDs in front.

Would be great to have batch rendering with different angles and images.

We could have different “scenes” – views of products – and put there list of images to process.

For example Left, Right and Front view (with custom option) and
Images set1, set2, set3 etc. Then one click… and its done.

Ah… and of course automated saving.

Would be much easier to upgrade all products gallery in one session.

I think it can be done :)

Cheers!

Box Shot 3D supports batch rendering for at least a half of year. Maybe even more…

Just open User Manual, click “Advanced”, then “Using Command Line”

You can define camera angles, side images, target file name and resolution. If you need something more – you even can create project files on-the-fly. Some of our customers do that and look happy :)

P.S.: This is a Windows-only feature, but someday it will be implemented in the Mac-version too
